Choral Speaking Winner Wows Audiences in SJK(C) Yuk Kong

Choral Speaking Angels (CSA), the official and sole representative of the Vocational College, won first place in the choral speaking category of the Keningau District Level, which runs from from the morning until the afternoon of February 28.

The CSA from Keningau Vocational College obtained a total score of 95.0 to defeat 4 other secondary schools around the district.

Landing on second place was the neighbouring school, SM Ken Hwa  (90.3).

A VVIP guest from the British Council, Liz, has flooded the script writer's inbox with praises and congratulatory remarks for members of the Vocational choral group.

"Truly, you are our inspiration Choral Speaking Angels. Congratulations and we are so proud of you. We love you all brothers, sisters!" said a primary school boy from SJK(C) Yuk Kong.

"We are so proud of you, Intan (the conductor) and the whole choir. You are blessed with leadership skill. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the whole world. Keep up the good work and may God continue to bless you and keep you safe," said Ms. Christine Stanislaus Kinsik, the deputy director.

According to the choral group's instructor, Khairunisa Syafiqah Osli, the CSA started last year with founders Mr. Mark Bin Medi and Mr. Ibrahim Ismail armed with the goal of "preserving the love of the nature/environment through English language."

The new coach, Ms. Nurazilah Othman said the choral speaking has been active, practising extensively for performances and competitions.

Among several other accomplishments, the group was crowned The Second Runner Up – Keningau District Level, in the previous year's competition.

"I'm glad this time around, we're the champion!" cheered Intan, the conductor.
