Now everyone can.. have an English board!

We've listened to the Minister of Education's request to bring back the 'past best practices' on English,
and without hesitation we bring back the English Language Board which had been incorporated in 90's.

Now we're so busy with ICT that we forget this trivial thing does help in English language learning.

I know that some schools don't have much allocation for the English board like below which could cost you a fortune:

So we come up with a better plan which is mostly applicable to all! Click read more.

VIVA La Vida Loca

Remember the proverb, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"? It means that without time off from work, a person becomes both bored and boring.

Can you imagine studying and completing assignments all the time? And the short semesters in between? Killing! You might end up being some kind of robots, even worse, zombies!

And guess what? We don't want that to ever happen! Thus, Very Interesting Vocational Activities (VIVA), previously known as Motivational Camp (prior to the transformation), completed its 2nd cycle today.

Only at Keningau Vocational College you'll be able to experience the sensations of relishing activities and experiences!
Some tasks are indeed challenging, but when it's done in a group, God knows how fun it could be!

Do you think you'll enjoy your school more than college? Think again.

Mini Storybook Project

Who said learning is boring under Vocational College?

Students will be able to create a mini storybook which comprises of a cover page, 7 different content pages which include an illustration and a short description on each page. Furthermore, students can learn about word choice, sentence structure, and the writing process (drafting, revising, and publishing) and to express their creative juice by drawing.

And you'll get marks for sharing your thoughts! Life can't get any better than this!

Never have been this close to home..

We live far away from home.
But we don't mind being far.
Because Keningau Vocational College feels like home.
A peer-teacher had once said, "You're loved here. And you could feel it."
There's a resounding truth.

Environmentally-friendly English Boards

No, I've no idea whether the boards are made from recycled items.
But I'm sure the information materials are!

Thanks to the English Language Society (ELS) for their creative endeavours in using recycled coloured papers (those which had been used on one side).

The results are magnificent! Please click the link below :))

We managed to fill in the boards of:

Our Kindergarten Journey

Last Monday, a group of thirty-four trainees from the Diploma of Baking & Pastry course had the wonderful experience of visiting Keningau Vocational College's kindergarten for their social service and HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). The trainees had made full use of the one week break to discuss some activities for the children.

As an English non-face-to-face activity, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to use a field trip experience to support and enhance our current learning into meaningful use of English since trainees would put into practice, all of the language knowledge they've been learning about over the past two semesters.

What makes it more interesting, you ask? They use the English language knowledge by teaching it to their adorable little brothers/sisters. Now they know how fun it is being a teacher! :))

The inspiring bakers are excited to have the opportunity to become the teachers for the day.
