Strike a Pose!

The English Language Society (ELS) in collaboration with the College Library was proud to organize ‘Strike a Pose!’ photo-shoot session. The event had tested the students’ creativity in promoting Keningau College Library as the knowledge source. It was also in conjunction with the National Reading Month.

Enhancement and amazing activities were being executed with the aims to encourage reading and to expose students to different divisions in the library which sometimes were overlooked. The deeds would cultivate students’ interest in reading as well as empower the college’s library as the hotspot to gain knowledge.

There are two challenges:
1) Imitating the Poses on Book Covers.

2) Posing inside the library promoting different sections (e.g. the book counter, bookshelves, lobby, AV room etc.) by adhering to a tagline.

“Your life is colourless without books.”

“People would kill to borrow a masterpiece.”

“Knowledge is beautiful.”

“Knowledge is your shield.”

“It’s worth fighting to own a bestseller.” / “Knowledge is power.”

OBJECTIVES
Towards the students in general:
a) Boost students' creativity in portraying a book.
b) Nurture interest in reading via different ways of interpretations.
c) Exposing the students on different kind of books/genres available at the library.
d) Raising awareness that the library is not merely about books, when there are different interesting sections as well.

Towards the ELS’s members:
a) Instilling a sense of responsibility in fulfilling organizational duties.
b) Promoting 'esprit de corps' via cooperation and togetherness in completing a task.
