The final, held on Tuesday 16 April, at Vocational Likas Library, saw the team compete against an all girls team from Vocational Beaufort. Arguing the negative side of the challenging conceptual topic “Malaysians Are Becoming Less Caring Towards The Environment”.   Examples as the acts of becoming less caring were presented by the talented debaters.

"Sorry ladies, 'girl power' mantra doesn't work this time." proclaimed Joel, the head of the team

As well as debating in the District Level competition and winning runner-up, they have represented the College at the friendly match debate competition at SMK Majakir few months back.

“No other team in the college’s history has managed to achieve the outstanding results this Debate Angels team has, I am sure we will see these students competing at the national and international levels when they begin university debating and these skills will be of immense value in their future careers,” commented Mr. Khalifah, Keningau Vocational College's Coordinator.

Tamara Apin, speaking on behalf of the girls explained the benefits of debating.
Tenacious Tamara impressed the audience and intimidated the opposition with her British accent

“I have learnt to think on my feet and to think outside the box. I have also become very aware of current affairs and have developed a keen interest in keeping up to date with them” She believes a huge contribution to their success is the fact that “we are such good friends and understand each other so well that preparing a clear case and understanding each other has been easy,” she said.
