Who Else Wants To Become the Best Orator and a part of the First-Runner Up?!

This is the first year that a College student has won the District Debate.

Malik defeated TBA, a senior at St. Francis Xavier School. The resolution of the debate was: Resolved: That the federal government should provide a system of complete Medical care available to all citizens at public expense.

High school debaters from across the region vie for the opportunity to participate in the host school event.

The debaters square off in a British Parliamentary-style format. Affirmative construction, cross-examination, negative construction and rebuttal are all strictly timed, and the participants are judged on logical, creative and persuasive arguments.

The team which also include the other junior and a senior, Tamara Apin and Joel Conolly Bauni is coached by college debate coach, Mohd Sirhajwan Idek, a valedictorian of UiTM Shah Alam, and head manager Mohd Al-Khalifa Mohd Affnan. The team has competed in a friendly match with the best team SMK Majakir, Papar few weeks back.
