On Tuesday 5 Feb at SMK Majakir, the friendly match got under way with the debates on
the internet brings more harm than good.

There was a great buzz throughout the day, with stacks of questions from the audience and lots of contact details being swapped amongst teachers at the end.
"I want my students to fight with the best among the rest!" roared Mr. Sirhajwan excitedly.

Mrs Audrey Koh explained how the first friendly match worked and emphasised how it had encouraged genuine cooperation and collaboration between schools at a local level that does not always happen.
She commented:
“I was struck by the high level of contributions to the debates by younger students in the audience. Talking to teachers afterwards there was a lot of interest in local friendly debates and league events; as well as enthusiasm for how these could offer younger students an introduction to the cut and thrust of friendly debate.”
